Charlie loves it at Grandma & Grandads. Not only do they have a dog, a lovely big house and a garden (which I'm starting to realise I totally took for granted when I was young), they live near countryside (which I also took for granted!). They live right on the edge of Baildon Moors where Charlie can paddle in steams and run about in the grass. I was so lucky to have all that when I was growing up.
The highlight this trip though, has to be our trip to Temple Newsam. This place is magical for kids, and you can really appreciate it as an adult too. A gorgeous Tudor-Jacobean house with acres and acres of beautiful green land, flowers and trees. And of course... the farmyard. This was one of my favourite places when I was a kid. And it's still here, and just as magical for Charlie.
Even though Charlie knows a lot for his age (so people keep saying) he's still very little and getting to know what things are. One things certain though, he knows and he loves animals! He also loves space, - he really, really loves large open spaces - and he loves to be set free to explore his surroundings. One of my favourite things in the world is watching Charlie explore new places. His curiosity, his determination to get to each place, and his excitement as he sees something new and explores everything about it. I love that about him. Like mammy & daddy, he seems to be outdoorsy and adventurous already :).
My little explorer |
I LOVED them snoring pigs huddled together! They were hilarious! |
A newborn lamb born that day - so adorable. Charlie absolutely loved stroking the goats, who were so friendly and tame. He wasn't as impressed by the pigs big snout though! |
He loved these goats so much! |
Charlie doesn't ride on ride-ons - he explores what moves, and then pushes them! |
Trying not to stand on any of the flowers :)

It's great when you find somewhere that people of mixed ages can enjoy isn't it. I am loving all those flowers and that mud! Your sun picture is so cute.
