Inhale/Exhale bath bomb from Lush (Easter 2014 range)

This bath bomb smells VERY strong. It reminds me of loose leaf lapsang tea, where the tea leaves are dried over pinewood fires, making for an uber-smokey taste. A seriously intense blast of woody thick smoke in a mug. That is this, in a bath bomb.

Smoke smoke smoke.

The exhale is meant to be fruity, but the inhale just steals the stage. It's so overbearing.

Definitely a marmite bath bomb. You will love or you will loathe.

 

It kind of looks... a bit, like a blue squid exploded in the bath and it's guts came fizzing out...

To be completely honest (as one should be when reviewing on ones blog) I wish I'd not spent as much on these new Lush products, because I've been really disappointed.

I hated Golden Egg & Wonder Woohoo. Golden egg left me feeling dry and itchy and the smell was purely It's Raining Men - without any creamy mango that I could smell in solid form. And I couldn't smell Wonder Woohoo at all. Both left my bath water coloured with yellows and greys. Not very appealing to somebody who loves bold colours.

I was unimpressed with Brightside bubble bar - although pairing it with Think Pink bath bomb made for a gorgeous orangey/creamy extremely moisturising bath! Lovely sun-setty colours too. I think I'd get another of both just to do this again!



Now this. Inhale/Exhale bath bomb. There really isn't much I can say about it. Which is never a positive thing. It smelled interesting in solid form, I love the non-girly scents and this was very unusual but seriously, it just smelled like something burnt out- and I don't know if there's a problem with my nose or what but in the bath I could hardly smell anything once it'd fizzed.

The colours were like that of Twilight bath bomb, and you're left with a dirtyish purply colour and a sort of smoky musky scent. It's really subtle, which it probably has to be. But I couldn't smell the fruit. And I don't want to bathe in a bath of burnt coals. I like strong scents - Lord of Misrule, Karma, Big Blue & Twilight are out of this world in quality & scent and nothing I've tried from the Easter & Mothers day range compares to that sort of quality.

My favourites from the new 2014 ranges are by far are the Secret Garden bath bomb, and the Bunch of Carrots bubble bar. I know there are other "Egg" bath bombs but I'm not paying 7 quid for a bath bomb. No way. Not even if I could afford it.

So... that's it from my stash of the new Lush products - and my very honest reviews!

I've been told that if I'm a good mammy, I might get a bubble wand for Mothers Day and a piece of the carrot soap (which smells INCREDIBLE in the shop!), so I'll review them as and when.

Baby bot - Lush's bath bomb for babies.

With a mammy crazy for Lush, Charlie had Ickle Baby Bot as soon as he was over 1. The recommended age is from six months, but I'm not sure if I'd risk it on a smaller baby. But that's just me and my lovely obsession with using everything with the word 'mild' and 'for sensitive skin' on it when it comes to babies. I loved the Burts Bee's shower gel though when he was younger.

Burts Bee's stuff would be great for mothers day actually.. hmm...

Anyway, this is gorgeous. The smell is divine. Trust me, if it was crap, I'd tell you. I never liked the smell of lavender (conventionally, I thought it was an old lady smell) but since I've sniffed Twilight & Baby Bot my opinion has totally changed and I adore lavender. It reminds me of fantasy woodlands, the outdoors, safety and comfort.

This smells like lavender sherbert, if you can try and imagine that! Subtle and soft, there's plenty of fragrance there, but that delicate fragrance, like Fairy Fabric powder and Baby Comfort softener do when combined, it has that 'soft baby smell' that just hooks you. Well, it does me. I remember the summer Charlie was born, standing outside at the washing line & sniffing all of his little baby grows one by one - what an addictive smell!

 It fizzes a gorgeous milky blue colour in the water and releases it's fragrance. I only used half here and the smell filled the bathroom. The water changed to a very pale blue.  Lovely fresh colour for bathing in. I think anyway.

As you can see - Charlie wasn't bothered by it - nor was he relaxed! But I wouldn't expect 10 baby bots & his own lullaby orchestra to relax him.

Charlie has a few dry patches of skin, mainly on the tops of his legs and on his face, and they were noticeably smoother after using Baby Bot. His skin was glowing the next day.

For this bath I only used half of it, but for the next one I'll use the whole thing so Charlie can be properly moisturised. He smelled soooo good afterwards too! :)

Ickle Baby Bot from Lush - absolute bargain at 1.95! I think I'll get myself a couple next time I'm in there for a lovely night time relaxing bath!

Pamper Sunday: Lush Carrot bubble bar (Easter 2014) ; Angels on Bare Skin clenser & Ayesha face mask.

I have oily skin, it gets spotty, it gets greasy, it gets patchy... I did not get lucky with my face skin, it's incredibly hard to control. THIS stuff does everything I want for my face! It brightens, it tones, it absorbs the grease and it soothes away the blotchyness! My skin always feels so refreshed and smooth afterwards. I've tried other cleansers from lush including Ocean Salt (Which I love for the salty refresher zing in the summer) and Let The Good Times Roll.... which does nothing whatsoever for my skin and the smell, which was delicious at first, got boring and too sickly after using it a few times! This is the best cleanser for you, if you have face skin like me!

This smells soooo refreshing and green and healthy! I really love it.
I never buy my face masks because I buy so many other lush products I use the "Bring back 5 pots for a free face mask" offer and get them that way. I've currently switched from Cosmetic Warrior to Aeysha and this smells far better, and the consistency is like a scrub so your face feels extra clean afterwards! It's supposed to tone it and smooth out the lines and wrinkles temporarily so it's great to use before a night out or something :)

These carrots really, really REALLY remind me of Cleo's catnip toy!

They smell SO fresh and soapy! I love refreshing smells!
They're supposed to smell fruity and blackcurrenty but they don't really to me... mainly soapy - but nice, luxury soapy!

I held one carrot under the tap - orange water!

Put your thumb over the running tap to create more pressure bubbles!

Tried to swirl it around the bath like it says on the website - but my swirling stalk came off!

My cutlery tray turned bottle holder makes a good carrot stand!

Inspired by Wonder Woman, imitating her gold crown.

That's WW - the lesser known of the Fictional Super Heros.

Why do we know less about her and in-your-face everything about Batman, Superman, Spiderman? Because she's a woman. And a fiesty, powerful, strong, intelligent woman who saves people - saves men! Which obviously means she gives out the wrong message to our kids about women. Women in today's society should all be submissive little housewives who stay looking pretty and bringing up the babies.

You think I'm wrong? Go and look at the toys/products advertised to girls from birth to age 15. And the girly styled clothes in relation to the angry "action hero" boy styles.

When I have more of that gold dust I call 'spare time' I'm going to sit down and study more about WW. The other day I found out about this picture book that I want to get for Charlie:

 

It's a WW picture book for kids! I'm impressed. I'm not impressed about how well hidden it is however. I found it via The fantastic "A Mighty Girl" website. I don't have a daughter (yet!) but I love this website, and I think it's just as important that Charlie and any other son I might have, grow up with the correct message about girls and women. There's no chance he's learning about spiderman & co without learning about Wonder Woman too..

I digress. Probably because talking about Wonder Woman is more exciting than the bath I got from this bubble bar. It was literally "okay". It smelled really nice in solid form and the idea of the mimosa absolute (which I love!), sandalwood oil and Brazillian orange oil sounds like heaven to me - but I used half the bar and the smell just evaporated into the air.  No staying power whatsoever.

I tried to smell the bubbles and was literally snorting them trying to smell the scent (I don't recommend doing this!)... so felt pretty deflated on the scent scale.

I did get looooads of fluffy bubbles but I'd expect that from half a bubble bar from Lush! The water was a cloudy greyish colour, no sparkles so, you know, it was okay! Karma bubble bar is a million times better, sunny side beats this hands down, and even pop in the bath is better because the smell stays throughout the bath!

I cut a quarter to begin with but then eventually ended up putting half in.

The water was like a dirty grey colour with specks of glitter - not particularly appealing!

Really nice fluffy bubbles though!

Lush - The Golden Egg Easter bath bomb 2014 review.

Golden Egg bath bomb/melt

I think this is a marmite bath bomb. I absolutely hated this. I'm not a huge fan of the Honey I Washed the Kids scent, but in solid form this Golden Egg has another smell; - creamy vanilla mixed with honey and orange - seriously INCREDIBLE smell in solid form. I'm also not a huge fan of gold glitter (If there has to be glitter I'd always choose silver) but I was hoping this would be like sunnyside bubble bar, and give the water a plasmary ripply glittery effect.

I took this picture a few weeks ago of my sunnyside mixed with Big Blue bath bomb:

Clouds of gold swirl around the bath - it's amazing!

But Golden Egg doesn't do that. 
Firstly, when dissolved it smells 1000% like HIWTK. Secondly, if you like glitter then this looks like a sack of gold glitter has been emptied into your tub!.. just hoards of glitter. Thirdly, the water is that queasy shade of yellow. Fourthly the water didn't feel smooth and silky like you get with Big Blue, Avo, or Sex Bomb - the water felt (and looked) like it'd had olive oil poured into it. I also came out feeling dry and itchy and emptied half a bottle of moisturiser. The amount of glitter in my tub after was insane - I wouldn't have minded as much if I'd have loved the bomb - but I really, really didn't in the end.

The Secret Garden bath bomb (Mothers day 2014)

I'm not your typical hearts-diamonds-roses type of female, and usually I'm not into floral scents -but I LOVE this bath bomb. This is the beautiful smell of spring in a bath!

It smells sooo fresh. Like daffodils and morning dew on the grass, and goes on to release smells of wild flowers; as well as actual flower petals.

You get a psychedelic display of green, yellow and frothy pink and eventually a beautiful shade of deep green (my favourite colour) with little flower buds of red, yellow and purple.

You can imagine you're in a secret garden, in a beautiful little pond surrounded by wild flowers.

 I loved this! I'll be getting more!
